Festivals and Event Organisation

I organise, curate and compere poetry events.  This all began in 2000, when I set up and r an Voice Box -  an Osaka-based poetry series, featuring open mic. spots and slamming.  When I returned to England, I became heavily involved in Bristol's longest running poetry and music open mic. night, Acoustic Night, organising/recording events, working on funding bids and helping to compere the evening.  In 2008, I took over from the late Pat V T West as coordinator of the Poetry&Words stage at the world famous Glastonb ury Festival.  The following year I began running the Lyrical Lostwood poetry line-up at Larmer Tree, which I ran until 2016.  In place of Larmer Tree Festival, I took on the spoken word line up at Sussex-based family festival Elderflower Fields from 2016 until 2021.  I continue to curate and host poetry at Glastonbury Festival and a range of one-off events.   Click on the tab above to find out more about my festival work.  If you are interested in booking me to compere, curate or organise a poetry event, please e-mail me at the address at the bottom of this page.
